Man Found Shot in Boronda in Monterey County

A 58-year-old man was badly injured in a shooting just outside of Salinas on Monday morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s deputies and Salinas police responded to a report of a shooting in the Boronda neighborhood at 10:35 a.m. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Higuera Lane and Hyland Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies found the victim, Donald Crisp, lying in a driveway on Higuera Lane with serious gunshot wounds. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center and then airlifted to a hospital in San Jose for surgery, according to the sheriff’s office.
