Officers have arrested suspects in connection with armed robbery at a Mexican restaurant and at a market in Watsonville. At about 4:10 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to Real Colima, located at 1101 E. Lake Ave., for a report of an armed robbery, police said. Officers arrived at the restaurant and contacted several witnesses and victims. According to the police investigation, two male suspects entered the restaurant and demanded that an employee give them money from the register.

One of the suspects pulled a handgun on an employee, while the other suspect jumped over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of money from the register, police said. The suspects

On suspect was described as standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. The second suspect was described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds, police said. As police investigated the armed robbery at the restaurant, a second armed robbery at the Four Corners Market on Amesti Road was reported. Police broadcast a possible suspect vehicle description of a white Jaguar.

About 30 minutes later, the California Highway Patrol located a white Jaguar with three male occupants in Aptos. Officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued, police said. The vehicle pursuit ended safely and the three male occupants were eventually detained, police said. Since the suspect descriptions from both robberies were similar, Watsonville police responded to follow up with the investigation.

A witness positively identified one of the males, 17-year-old juvenile, as a suspect in the restaurant robbery. He was taken into custody and booked into Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall for robbery and participation in a criminal street gang. Police said the other occupants in the vehicle were not identified as suspects in either robbery. The driver of the vehicle was arrested by the CHP for felony evading, police said.
