Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a minimum-security inmate who escaped while on a work crew at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, deputies said. At about 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Michael Edward Greene Jr., 38, escaped by walking away from an inmate work crew assigned to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, sheriff’s deputies said.
Greene was a minimum-security inmate housed at the North County Detention Facility, deputies said. He had been in custody since February for miscellaneous drug-related charges, burglary and theft, according to sheriff’s deputies. Greene had a release date of June 2015.
