A parolee was arrested Saturday for allegedly burglarizing a Petaluma home, police said. Officers first responded to reports of a home burglary in the 100 block of Cinnabar Lane on Tuesday, according to Petaluma police. Several unique antique items were taken during the crime, police said. Investigators searched several homeless encampments located in a field near the home and located a large amount of the stolen property, police said.
Harold Powell, 50, was identified as a suspect, police said. Officers returned to the encampment area on Saturday and located Powell near some railroad tracks, police said. The suspect initially fled on foot, but halted when police threatened to deploy a K-9 dog to track him, police said. Powell was arrested for possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and violating parole.
