24 Year Old Man Fatally Shot in Berkeley

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in North Berkeley Thursday night, according to police. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and a victim down in the 1800 block of San Pablo Avenue, near the Albatross Pub, at 9:18 p.m., police said.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

Police are withholding the victim’s name pending notification of his family. Homicide detectives are canvassing the area for information and interviewing witnesses. The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
