A radio communication tower that collapsed in Contra Costa County on Monday morning may be the work of vandals, according to the East Bay Regional Park District Police. At about 9 a.m. officers were notified that a tower on Rocky Ridge, located west of San Ramon and Danville, had failed and collapsed during the night.
Officers responded to the scene and found that no injuries had occurred and that vandalism may have been involved in the incident.
The tower supports radio communications systems across the East Bay. All systems remain intact this morning, police said. Police are continuing to investigate the cause of tower’s collapse.
