A Sonoma County SWAT team on Saturday arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly threatening his parents with a gun. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the community of El Verano at 9:30 p.m., where a man with a firearm was reported at a home at 19355 Orange Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office. The suspect, later identified as Sam Heyerly, did not respond to multiple attempts by deputies to contact him at the scene. Heyerly, who has a prior criminal history, apparently refused to come out of a trailer on his parents’ property. The sheriff’s office called in a SWAT team, who drove an armored vehicle onto the property and positioned it near the trailer. Heyerly promptly came out and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for making threats, resisting arrest, and violating probation.
