Santa Rosa police have arrested a 67-year-old man on suspicion of molesting three children between the mid-to-late 1990s and 2006. Rufino Cervantes, of Santa Rosa, was arrested Tuesday and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on eight felony counts that include continuous sexual abuse of a child, forced oral copulation and attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14. He is being held in the Sonoma County jail under $500,000 bail. The Santa Rosa Police Department’s domestic violence and sexual assault investigations team initially interviewed one alleged victim but others consistently told the same story, Sgt. Terry Anderson said. Anderson said police are not releasing more information to protect the identity of the victims.
