A California Highway Patrol officer arrested a parolee for drug possession after a traffic stop in west Sonoma County on Tuesday night. An officer stopped a Honda on Canyon 7 Road in Rio Nido around 8:15 p.m. when he noticed the vehicle was missing a mirror and had tinted front windows, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said. The driver of the Honda stopped and ran north on Canyon 6 Road but was caught after a brief chase.
Paul Alborz, 40, of Rio Nido, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Sloat said. There was a warrant for Alborz’s arrest for parole violations, and he was booked in the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of drug possession, resisting an officer and the warrant.
