A staff member of a Mountain View preschool has been placed on administrative leave amid accusations of inappropriate touching of children, Mountain View police said today. The employee of the Little Acorn Preschool, at 1667 Miremonte Ave., is on leave to prevent that person from interacting with students during an investigation into the alleged child abuse, police said.
The preschool put the staff member on leave based on the allegations and information from the Police Department’s initial investigation, police said. There have been no arrests and no specific details are being released as the inquiry continues, police said. Mountain View police on July 10 received a report from the Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children’s Services about alleged inappropriate touching of a child by a staff member at the preschool.
The Police Department assigned the case to its Investigative Services Division, which includes officers specifically trained in interviewing young children, police said. The officers took statements from children at the preschool and letters were sent to each child’s home informing their parents of the investigation and how to contact investigative services, police said.
