Police have identified the victims in two separate shootings over the weekend. Sixteen-year-old Jorge Medina was killed in a San Jose shooting Sunday morning, police said. There was a report of shots fired in the 10300 Murtha Drive in East San Jose at about 1:05 a.m., police said. A large party was dispersing when officers arrived and found a car connected with the shooting.
The car was stopped at White and Story roads where the San Jose resident was suffering from several gunshot wounds inside the car, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before 2 a.m. the next day. The homicide marks the 28th in San Jose this year. Earlier that weekend on Friday night, Gregory Lamere was shot to death in the city’s 27th homicide, police said.
Lamere, 31, of San Jose, was found in the 1300 block of State Street in San Jose’s Alviso neighborhood around 9:45 p.m. He was taken to Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m., police said. Police have not identified or apprehended any suspects in connection to both killings.
