Investigators have arrested a Vacaville man on suspicion of fatally shooting another man in unincorporated Solano County on Tuesday night, sheriff’s officials said. An anonymous caller reported a loud argument and gunshots in the 7200 block of Stieger Hill Road, north of Vacaville, around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Solano County sheriff’s Deputy Daryl Snedeker said. When deputies responded, 26-year-old Sergio Perez was driving away from a home but then drove back into the driveway and was detained, Snedeker said.
Deputies then found the victim deceased near the residence and arrested Perez on suspicion of murder, Snedeker said. He was booked into Solano County Jail. The victim, whose name has not been released, is a Solano County resident but the relationship between the two men has not been determined, Snedeker said.
“We are not actively pursuing any other suspects,” he said. The shooting happened on Stieger Hill Road between Cantelow Road and Gibson Canyon Road, Snedeker said. Snedeker said investigators are following leads. “We don’t know why the shooting took place,” he said this morning.
