Salinas man shot on Garner Avenue he was airlifted to a hospital

A 32-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in Salinas early this morning, police said. Around 12:50 a.m., officers received reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Garner Avenue, according to police. Officers found the victim lying in the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower torso, police said.

The man was airlifted to a hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition this morning, according to police. Police said the victim was walking on Garner Avenue when two males wearing all black approached. One of the suspects pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds at the victim. The shooting is being investigated as a gang-related crime, according to police. No arrests have been made in the case.
