Police are searching for three men who stabbed a man multiple times during a mugging in Watsonville on Wednesday morning. At about 10 a.m. on Wednesday Watsonville police officers received a report of a stabbing near the intersection of Riverside Drive and White Street.
Upon arrival, police found a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. Emergency medical personnel cared for the victim at the scene before transporting him to Watsonville Community Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
According to the police investigation, the victim was on his way home from work on Riverside Drive with a bicycle when three suspects approached him. The suspects took his bicycle from him. They also took a gold chain from around his neck, police said.
The victim put up a struggle and one of the suspects stabbed the victim multiple times in the right side of his body, according to police. The three suspects fled the area on foot with the victim’s property, police said. The suspects were described as Hispanic men around 25 to 29 years old, with thin builds and wearing dark clothing. Police searched the area extensively, but the suspects were not located.
