An Antioch man who was shot and killed Saturday after suffering injuries in a shooting just the day before has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office. Billy Burks, 42, was found around 9:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his head on the porch of his apartment in the 2100 block of Spanos Street. Burks was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he was later pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office.

Police said Burks was also shot Friday at the same location around 11 a.m. He suffered injuries to his leg and back in that shooting but was uncooperative with officers and would not provide information about who shot him. Police are continuing to investigate both shootings.
