Knox County Sheriff’s Sergeant Mike Ledbetter Shot in the Line of Duty, Suspect Killed in Shootout

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said Sergeant Mike Ledbetter, 41, is recovering at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center after undergoing a four-hour surgery Thursday night. Sgt. Ledbetter was shot in his lower left leg, severely damaging a major artery which caused substantial blood loss.
Sgt. Ledbetter’s was wounded while law enforcement officers were trying to arrest Jordan Camp, 21, Thursday afternoon. Deputies say Camp was wanted on three outstanding warrants of aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and violation of probation.
