Update-A suspect was taken into custody Monday night after a law enforcement officer and a police dog were shot earlier in the day during a SWAT standoff in Sellersburg, Ind.

Indiana State Police confirmed a police officer and a police dog have been shot at the scene of an ongoing SWAT standoff in Sellersburg, Ind., according to WDRB News. Authorities say a suspect is barricaded inside a structure there. Other news sources have reported that the wounded officer was a Clark County deputy, who now is in stable condition in the hospital with a leg wound.

Other media sources have reported that the police dog was killed on the scene. These reports, however, had not been confirmed as of 5:17 p.m. (EDT) Monday.
