San Jose Police Department Press Release 6/19/13
The San Jose Police Department has identified/arrested four suspects in the January 24th, 2013 murder of Donald Harvey. The Department’s Covert Response Unit, MERGE and METRO Units located and arrested Suspects Enrique Martinez and Ceasar Torres in San Jose, California, on June 12th, 2013. Suspects Martinez and Torres were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. A juvenile suspect was arrested on June 14, 2013 in San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall. Detectives also identified an additional Suspect in the case. Suspect Joel Madrigal was already in custody on an unrelated case. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has filed murder charges on all four suspects with a gang enhancement. The homicide is believed to be gang-related.
Homicide Commander Lt. Mike Kihmm said,”Unfortunately, this was another case where the suspects (gang members) robbed an innocent victim walking down the street who was minding his own business. It was the diligent investigation’s by our detectives from the San Jose Police Department’s- Gang Investigation Unit who were instrumental in helping us solve this Homicide investigation. They worked side by side along with our Homicide detectives to get these violent suspects off the streets.”
