Kenneth Toombs Arrested by UC Berkeley Police for Alleged Assault at People’s Park

University of California at Berkeley police arrested a man after he allegedly got in an altercation Thursday morning, police said. Kenneth Toombs, 55, was spotted by an officer assaulting someone in the area of People’s Park, at Dwight Way and Telegraph Avenue, around 10:15 a.m., according to police. The officer let police dispatch know after he saw Toombs flee the area, police said.

Another officer stopped Toombs in front of Peet’s Coffee and Tea at 2501 Telegraph Ave., according to police Toombs, who is not affiliated with the school, had suffered injuries to his head and arms during the altercation, and was transported to a hospital before being taken into custody, police said.
