Two juveniles and an adult who allegedly burglarized several homes in Santa Clara were arrested last week, police announced Thursday. On June 7, Santa Clara police arrested the three suspects, who are believed to be responsible for a string of burglaries in the 100 block of Benton Street. Police said the suspects conducted surveillance on each home before they entered. The suspects would knock on the target residence’s front door, checking for occupants and other potential hazards. Investigators also believe one or two suspects may have acted as a lookout during the burglaries.
More than $20,000 worth of jewelry, cameras, watches, purses and electronics were recovered by police following the arrests, according to police. The two juveniles arrested in connection with the burglaries were booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of various burglary offenses, police said.
The adult arrested, Marquel Brown, 18, of Santa Clara, was booked into county jail on suspicion of five counts of burglary, police said. Police believe the crew is responsible for additional burglaries and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the recovered property. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (408) 615-4825 or may remain anonymous via a tip line at (408) 241-9495. Photographs of the recovered property can be viewed on the Santa Clara Police Department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/santaclarapd.
