An arrest has been made in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old man at a Pittsburg gas station in January, police said today. Renard Curry, 19, was arrested for the Jan. 29 killing of Timothy Smith Jr. at a Union 76 gas station, located at 2150 Railroad Ave., police said.
The 9 a.m. shooting sent customers running and left Smith with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. He died later that day. Curry’s brother, Robert Grant, 24, is also sought in connection with the murder.
Other suspects have also been arrested in connection with the murder, Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman said, but their identities are not being made public. Police said Grant is considered armed and dangerous and knows that police are looking for him. He is a San Francisco resident who frequents the East Bay area.
