San Jose police are investigating two deaths that occurred since Tuesday, including that of a man who succumbed to his injuries several days after a fight. The fight occurred in the 200 block of North 12th Street around 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, and the victim was knocked unconscious, according to police. He remained at the hospital until he died of his injuries Tuesday morning, police said. The case is under investigation, and no suspects have been identified or taken into custody. The death marks the city’s 22nd homicide of the year. Police said it is unclear if the fight was gang-related. Then this morning, a body was found in a shopping cart in the 200 block of North Fourth Street around 9 a.m., police said. The male in the cart was possibly a transient or homeless person, police said. The death is considered suspicious but has not been ruled a homicide, police said.
