A man was arrested in Pinole earlier this week on suspicion of possession of child pornography and a stolen Jet Ski, a police commander said. Pinole police received a call at 6:07 p.m. Wednesday from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon regarding Thomas Holdener, 53, who had just called their office and was upset about an incident that happened there in 2011, police Cmdr. Pete Janke said.

Holdener told the sheriff’s office he “had a gun and was going to take care of the business himself,” Janke said. Police responded to Holdener’s home on Pine Street in Pinole within the hour and detained him as he appeared to be a danger to himself, according to Janke. Officers entering his home observed child pornography in plain view, prompting authorities to seal the residence and secure a search warrant, Janke said.

Police officers and FBI agents returned at about 9 a.m. the next day to the home where an additional amount of child pornography was found and seized, along with the stolen Jet Ski, Janke said. Police said they anticipate the FBI will take over handling the case. Anyone with information about the case should call Detective Justin Takacs at (510) 724-8944.
