ID #13-188

The Oakland Animal Service and Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the man in this surveillance video. Authorities report that on May 29th, 2013, this suspect left a severely neglected and abused dog in a crate in front of the animal shelter. A spokesperson also reported that the dog was so severely injured that it had to be euthanized.

The dog was starved, beaten and had a bungee cord and large chain embedded in its fur and skin around her neck. Oakland Animal Control Director David Cronin said. “Her skin was rotting. This dog was rotting to death in a backyard.” “She had maggots in her wounds, she was in phenomenal pain, she had exposed bones that had protruded through her skin,” Cronin said.
