A suspect who was struck in officer-involved shooting in East Oakland this afternoon died at the hospital, police said. Around 2 p.m. police responded to the 7700 block of Bancroft Avenue where the suspect was hit by police gunfire. The male suspect was transported to the hospital where he died, police said.

Two other suspects who had been with the killed suspect were arrested in the area after a brief search. The suspects had initially fled from authorities after police attempted to stop a suspicious car with the three suspects inside, police said. Police shut down roads near the shooting, including Bancroft Avenue between 77th and 80th avenues, the 2500 block of 79th Avenue and Ritchie Street between Olive and Hillside streets.
