A man claimed he was grazed by a gunshot in East Palo Alto early this morning but his neighbors reported hearing no shot and officers have not found evidence of a shooting, police said today. East Palo Alto police were dispatched to a hospital in Redwood City shortly before 2 a.m. after the 34-year-old man reported being hit by a bullet, police said.
The man said he was shot two hours earlier in the 700 block of Weeks Street and showed officers a grazing wound in his groin area, police said. Officers went to the neighborhood and say none of the neighbors reported hearing shots.
The Police Department’s Shotspotter system, a series of microphones used to locate gunshot sites on city streets, did not to detect a shot being fired there..
