A man was shot and injured by an armed robber while out for a walk in Antioch on Monday night, police said. Around 8:20 p.m., the 50-year-old Antioch man was walking in the area of Wild Horse Road and Sweet Water Street when a man carrying a gun approached him, police said. The robber confronted the man, demanded his money and then shot him before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound that was not believed to be life-threatening. He was later released. The suspect, who was accompanied by two other people, fled in what is described as a white or light gray Pontiac with a rear spoiler. No arrests had been made in connection with the shooting as of this morning.
