Two Aptos men have been arrested in connection with alleged sexual assaults against two teenaged girls, one a 13-year-old runaway, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. Eric Ichtertz, 21, was taken into custody Monday in Aptos on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor, a felony, and annoying and molesting a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which are misdemeanors, sheriff’s spokeswoman Deputy April Skalland said.
Carl Rigor, 22, was arrested May 8 in Aptos on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, a felony, Skalland said. The sheriff’s office arrested Rigor following a May 6 report by a 13-year-old girl from Aptos, who ran away from home briefly and upon returning told her parents a man had sexually assaulted her, Skalland said. During an investigation, deputies learned that a 15-year-old girl from Aptos who was a friend of the 13-year-old girl also reported being sexually assaulted, which led to Ichtertz’s arrest, Skalland said.
Rigor and the 13-year-old girl had been acquaintances and Ichtertz was Rigor’s friend, Skalland said. Rigor’s bail was set at $50,000 but he was unable to post it and remains in the Santa Cruz County Jail, Skalland said. Ichtertz posted bail and was released pending a future court date, she said.
