A man using a pay phone became the victim of an armed robbery in Watsonville early this morning, police said. The robbery happened at about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Riverside Drive and White Street. The 39-year-old victim was using the public pay phone when four males approached him, two of whom were armed — one with a gun and another with a knife.

The suspects searched the victim and stole his property, police said. The victim described the suspect with a gun as a Hispanic man between 21 and 25 years old, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a red zippered sweatshirt, a black shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, police said. The suspect with the knife is described as a Hispanic male between 16 and 20 years of age, with a thin build.

He was wearing a white pullover sweatshirt, gray shorts and red tennis shoes. The suspect vehicle is described as a white four-door Honda Accord with a “Monster” sticker on the back window. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects or the car.
