Five Arrested in Connection with Robbery Near Lake Merritt in Oakland

Five people were arrested in connection with a robbery near Lake Merritt in Oakland Thursday afternoon, police said. Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Lake Merritt at about 12:50 p.m., according to police. When officers arrived, the victims of the robbery were able to provide descriptions of the five suspects, the suspect car and a license plate number, police said.

Police in Piedmont located the car nearby and conducted a stop, police said. A woman, two men, and two juvenile boys were arrested in connection with the robbery, and all contents robbed were returned, police said. The robbery is under investigation.
