Two men were arrested in San Leandro Monday for possessing burglary tools, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Police in San Leandro responded to a report of a suspicious man on a porch in the 15000 block of Norton Street at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, Lt. Randy Brandt said. The suspect rang the doorbell to a home and noticed someone was in the home. He ran to a car and fled with another man, Brandt said.

The resident of the home gave police the car’s description and officers later stopped a car in the area that matched the description, according to Brandt. Dana Brown, 30, of Hayward, and Rahim Kenjoni, 32, of Pleasanton, were arrested after they were unable to logically explain why they were in the area, the lieutenant said. Officers also located burglary tools in the car, Brandt said.

Brown and Kenjoni were arrested for possessing burglary tools and were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday. Both are being held in lieu of $5,000 bail. Details of the case are not being released as police continue to investigate, with neighboring agencies, whether Brown and Kenjoni were targeting other communities, Brandt said.
