San Jose Police Department Press Release 5/9/13
The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in the City’s 14th Homicide of 2013. On 5/8/2013, at approximately 12:13 PM, the San Jose Police Department’s 9-1-1 Communications Center received a report of a male shot in the 2900 block of Westboro Drive in East San Jose. Upon arrival, officers located a male that had been shot at least once. The male was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:25 PM. The suspect, later identified as 55 year old Louie Garza, fled the scene in a vehicle and remains at-large.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. However, the suspect and the victim were known to each other. The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit considers suspect Louie Garza armed and dangerous. It is believed that suspect Garza may be headed to the Central Valley (Modesto, Manteca or Madera). It is also a possiblity the suspect may be attempting to flee the country.
