Victim Shot and Killed in Front of Oakland Fire Station as 20-30 Shots are Fired-See Photo Here

A victim was shot and killed in East Oakland tonight, police said. Police responded to reports of 20 to 30 shots being fired in the 5000 block of Melrose Avenue at 8:56 p.m. A victim was driven to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, police said. A nearby fire station, Engine Company 18 at 1700 50th Ave., had its windows shattered by gunfire, fire officials said.
