Jason Dikes shot and killed in front of an Antioch hotel on East 18th Street

A man who was shot and killed in front of an Antioch hotel early Saturday morning has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 38-year-old Jason Dikes. The shooting happened outside a hotel in the 500 block of East 18th Street at about 3:45 a.m., Antioch police said.

Police said officers arrived to find Dikes, a transient, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers and medical personnel performed life-saving measures on Dikes but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, police said. No information about potential suspects was available.
