Shooting Investigation May 4, 2013 At approximately 9:07 PM, East Palo Alto Police Officers were summoned to a residence on the 2100 block of Cooley Avenue when a “Shotspotter” activation indicated several gunshots at that location.

When officers arrived to check the area they located a 30 year old East Palo Alto man lying in the driveway of the address. The man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he is currently in serious but stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim had been standing in the driveway of his residence washing his vehicle when a gray or silver colored sedan approached and stopped in the street adjacent to the driveway. One of the vehicle occupants then fired a handgun from the inside of the vehicle, striking the victim with some of the rounds. The vehicle then drove away eastbound on Cooley Avenue from the scene. The occupants/suspects were described as two Hispanic males
