Hayward police served a search warrant in downtown Oakland this morning in connection with their investigation into the disappearance of a 34-year-old man, a police spokesman said. The warrant was served early this morning at business at 1944 Broadway, near the 19th Street BART station.

Police Sgt. Eric Krimm said the warrant is related to the case of Nigel Jay, of Hayward, who was last seen in downtown Oakland the evening of April 7. Police have released few details on the case but say the disappearance is suspicious. A close friend of Jay’s is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his recovery, police said.
