San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 4/26/13
On Thursday, 4/25/13 at approximately 8:45PM, citizens in the 2700 block of Devonshire Avenue called San Mateo Co. Public Safety Communications via 9-1-1 to report a domestic violence assault that was in progress. San Mateo Co. sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Valencia and a woman (later determined to be the victim) on the sidewalk in the area.
After interviewing several parties, Valencia was arrested for assaulting and injuring his girlfriend. Valencia was handcuffed and placed into the back seat of a patrol car, however; as deputies were completing their investigation, Valencia was able to flee from the vehicle. Exactly how he was able to do so is still under investigation. Sheriff’s deputies pursued Valencia on foot and set up a perimeter however he was able to evade capture.
The area was searched for several hours but Valencia was not located. Valencia may be driving a silver 1991 Acura Legend 4dr California Lic#2YGP965. He is wanted for felony domestic violence assault, violation of a restraining order and for escape from custody.
Valencia has made comments to family members that he will not go back to jail so he is considered dangerous.
