A Watsonville man was arrested Wednesday after three Soquel High School students reported that he exposed himself to them as they walked school, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office. Salvador Quinonez, 38, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of indecent exposure and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail, sheriff’s officials said.
The students, all females, told deputies that they saw a man masturbating in the bushes on Monday and Tuesday while each walked alone on a trail behind the school, located at 401 Old San Jose Road. Deputies took reports from each student but could not immediately locate the suspect.
On Wednesday, deputies conducted surveillance on the trail and found Quinonez, who matched the description of the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office. Quinonez was being held in jail on $50,000 bail.
