ID #13-147

Two Brentwood high schools were briefly put on lockdown on Thursday while police searched for a suspect in an armed bank robbery, police said. A suspect armed with a handgun robbed a US Bank located inside a Safeway store at 1125 Second St. around 2:10 p.m., according to Sgt. Walter O’Grodnick. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

During a search of the area, police instructed both Independence and Liberty high schools to lockdown for around 15 minutes as a precautionary measure. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, 30 to 35 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark baseball cap covered with a white knit hat, dark sunglasses, a white long-sleeved shirt and dark pants, according to police.
