San Jose police are investigating a suspicious device found at a business in the 500 block of Charles Street this afternoon. The suspicious package was reported just before 2 p.m. and the bomb squad was called in as a precaution, according to Sgt. Jason Dwyer. The bomb squad is currently en route from the HP Pavilion, where it was conducting an unrelated bomb sweep. The area has not been evacuated, but people are being told to shelter in place. No threats have been received, and police do not know whether the device is actually an explosive. Traffic is being diverted from the area of Charles and 13th streets during the investigation.
