BART police have released a sketch of the suspect in a fatal shooting near the Richmond BART station last month and are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect and his whereabouts. Shortly after 6 p.m. on March 14, 34-year-old Raymond Harris, of San Pablo, was fatally shot just outside the Richmond BART station, BART police said.
The suspect sketch was provided by a witness and was described as a black man in his early to mid 20s, standing about six feet tall with a slender build. The suspect had a medium to dark complexion and was wearing dark clothing and possibly a tan shirt underneath. The suspect may have been wearing a gray baseball cap with “Buffalo Bills” printed on it in red or blue, according to BART police.
Surveillance images were also captured of a woman who arrived at the station with the suspect. She then walked away from the suspect before the shooting occurred, and returned after the victim was shot. She then fled the scene on foot with the suspect, according to BART police. She is described as a black female, standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build.
She has long hair past her shoulders with bangs, and a medium to dark complexion. She was last seen wearing a gray long-sleeved top, blue jeans and carrying a large red or pink handbag. BART police Chief Kenton Rainey is asking for the public to help identify the suspect and his associate to bring justice to the victim’s family and the community. “This was a brazen crime, committed during the rush hour commute and we are committed to following up on every lead to solve this case and help keep the community safe,” Rainey said.
