A routine traffic stop in Belmont on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Hollister man on suspicion of possessing a loaded handgun and narcotics, police said today. At around 2:25 p.m., police pulled over Luis Mariano Hernandez, 29, in the 500 block of Ralston Avenue. During the stop, the officers located the drugs and loaded weapon, police said. Hernandez was booked into San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City on multiple charges, including being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of narcotics for sale, resisting or obstructing police and displaying false vehicle registration, according to police. A 22-year-old Gilroy man who was a passenger in Hernandez’ car was questioned at the scene but released.
