A man was stabbed after confronting another man who was urinating in front of his young daughters on San Francisco’s Market Street on Tuesday evening, a police spokesman said. The stabbing occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday near Market and Sixth streets. The 27-year-old victim was standing in front of a Muni bus stop with his two daughters and was waiting to meet his girlfriend when the man came up and began urinating in the bus shelter, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The victim asked the man to stop but he yelled expletives in return. The argument turned physical but the victim was able to break free and began walking away when the suspect came up from behind and attacked him again, Shyy said. The victim was able to break away again and went to his car, where he realized he had been stabbed, according to Shyy. His girlfriend drove him to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for a cut to his hand and a puncture wound to his arm — injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said. The suspect fled in a red two-door vehicle and had not been found as of this morning.

He is described as a black man in his late 20s or early or mid-30s who was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans, Shyy said.
