Police arrested two men in Pinole over the weekend for their alleged involvement in a stabbing that sent two people to the hospital. Officers responded to reports of a large fight at Pete’s Place at 610 San Pablo Ave. around 9:10 p.m. Saturday.

While en route to the bar, additional callers reported a stabbing had occurred, police said. Officers arriving on the scene found two stabbing victims, who were taken to John Muir Medical Center. One victim required surgery, while the other was in stable condition, police said. Using witnesses’ descriptions, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle within minutes on San Pablo Avenue near Crestview Drive. Police stopped the car and took the suspects into custody.

They were identified as 46-year-old Joe Wilkerson of Fairfield and Frederick Redd, 48, of Oakland. Wilkerson was taken to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center to be treated for cuts to his hand before being taken to jail. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
