Police are attempting to locate a man who robbed a Pinole Toys “R” Us store at gunpoint on Tuesday and made off with an armful of iPads. Officers were called to the Toys “R” Us at 1330 Fitzgerald Drive around 11:40 a.m. on a report of an armed robbery, according to police. A man had entered the store, approached a sales clerk and asked to see an iPad.

As the employee unlocked the secured cabinet where the tablets are kept, the man pushed the clerk and said he had a gun, police said. He then grabbed three iPads and fled. Police were unable to locate the suspect, who is described as a bald black man in his 20s who is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs roughly 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a powder-blue St. Louis Cardinals baseball jersey and is believed to have been driving a black BMW 7-Series, police said.

Police said the incident follows a similar robbery at a Best Buy store in Pinole two weeks ago. The same Toys “R” Us store was targeted in December by suspects attempting to return items purchased with counterfeit money at a San Rafael Toys “R” Us, according to police. The three men arrested in that case were linked to similar fraud cases at Toys “R” Us stores in Vallejo and throughout the Bay Area, police said
