A man was found in the San Francisco Bay in Richmond Sunday afternoon and police have determined it to be an unexplained death, a police lieutenant said. Police responded to a report that a body was found in the Bay near the 300 block of West Cutting Boulevard at about 3 p.m., Lt. Bisa French said. When officers arrived, they found a man in the water, French said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

There were some indications that the man, believed to be in his 60s, died of suspicious causes, and homicide detectives were called to the scene, French said. After investigating the scene, detectives determined that the death did not appear to be a homicide and deemed it an unexplained death, French said. No other information about the death was immediately available, she said.
