George Marrufo suspected drunk driving crash on Stewarts Point-Skagg Springs Road

A Sonoma County man suffered major injuries in a suspected drunk driving crash this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. George C. Marrufo was driving east on Stewarts Point-Skagg Springs Road east of state Highway 1 around 6:30 p.m. when the solo vehicle crash occurred, according to the CHP. Marrufo, a 51-year-old resident of Stewarts Point in western Sonoma County, was apparently approaching a right curve in the road at an unsafe speed when he applied his brakes and went over the southern edge of the road, according to the CHP. His vehicle overturned and struck a large tree, causing major injuries. Marrufo was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and later arrested there on suspicion of driving under the influence, the CHP said.
