Oakland police have arrested three suspects in connection with four robberies that occurred Thursday night. The first robbery occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, as the victim walked on the 5100 block of Clarke Street, police said. The victim was approached by two suspects, who told him they were armed with a gun and were robbing him, police said.
The victim was able to run away, however, and get help from a passing car, then call police. The suspects fled and tried to hide, but police located and arrested two juveniles who were positively identified by the victim. Later that evening on 59th Street, a resident walking home from BART was approached by a suspect who brandished a weapon and demanded his belongings.
The same suspect robbed another victim within 15 minutes in the 5900 block of Racine Street, and then attempted a third robbery in the 400 block of McAuley Street, police said. Police were able to locate the suspect, who was identified by victims, and make an arrest. Police did not release the names of the arrested suspects.
