A man who robbed a Westamerica Bank near Mill Valley on Wednesday afternoon may be responsible for other recent bank robberies in the North Bay, a Marin County sheriff’s lieutenant said. The man entered the bank at 1222 Redwood Highway in the Strawberry Village Shopping Center at 3:17 p.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money, Lt. Jamie Scardina said.
The robber did not show a gun and left the bank with cash, Scardina said. He was last seen getting into a mid-2000s tan Honda that drove south on Redwood Highway, Scardina said. The suspect is described as white and in his late 20s, with a large build and facial hair below his bottom lip. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, tan shorts, a red-and-black 49ers hat and sunglasses, Scardina said. Scardina said the suspect may have also robbed banks in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and Novato.
