San Jose police are seeking a man and a woman suspected of assaulting a woman and stealing her purse at a light transit rail station last month in San Jose before fleeing on bicycles. The two suspects and the victim were riding in a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority train on Feb. 6 and got off together at the Race Street Station at about 6:52 p.m., police said.
The suspects followed the victim onto a sidewalk and the female suspect started to punch and kick the woman until she fell to the ground, police said. The female and male suspect together ripped the purse away from the woman’s grasp and the two got onto bicycles and rode way, police said.
The female suspect is described as Hispanic, in her early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, 190 pounds with dark, wavy hair, and her bicycle had beach cruiser-style handlebars. The male suspect is white or Hispanic, in his early 20s, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and was seen riding a 10-speed bike with curved handlebars.
